ArtWrite’s bi-weekly newsletter mines the common ground between writers and artists through a blend of personal narrative and interviews. Each issue focuses on a theme and features one or more artists from different points on the career spectrum. The work and insights of a graduate student, an emerging artist, and a veteran with a lengthy CV might appear side by side in the same issue. ArtWrite is not about criticism and is never snarky. It aims to learn about and from artists and make that knowledge accessible and entertaining to readers.
On Instagram, artwritedaily and artwriteforkids post artwork from living artists to inspire writers and teachers. Writers are encouraged to submit ekphrastic writing for publication on ArtWrite’s website.
Maggie Levine created ArtWrite in July of 2020. Since its launch, ArtWrite’s newsletter and Instagram pages have garnered a following of writers, teachers, and international artists and art lovers.
